NewsSaint Laurence wins John Swain Award!This award is given to the Volunteer Group of the Year for groups serving all 21 Metro Atlanta Boys & Girls Clubs. Several tutors and two student's were invited to an award's dinner to mark the accomplishment. The director of the club, Kevie Dixon, stated "our academic program has skyrocketed as a result of the tutoring program created by Saint Laurence."Saint Laurence accepted into the Nativity Network in January 2005.Becoming a member results in Startup Phase grant of $150,000 from the Cassin Foundation which also funded our Feasibility Study. That study began in July 2004 and ended in November 2004. We have created strong business and implementation plans. Saint Laurence has become very involved in the community and is a member of several organizations in Paulding County. We are currently developing our funding inititives, making presentations, and evaluating potential funding organizations. |
